What's the catch? How can a terminal be free for life?
There's no separate terminal fee. Paystone earns on processing, not on renting you hardware. As long as you remain an eligible processing customer, you pay nothing to rent or lease the terminal. If you stop processing with Paystone, the terminal goes back. Full promotional terms and eligibility requirements apply.
Which terminals are eligible?
The Clover® Flex 4, the Clover® Mini 3, the Newland N950 and the Poynt. All of them take chip, tap, swipe, Interac and mobile wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay, and all of them print receipts. Your rep looks at how you actually take payments and recommends the right one, including any integration with the till or software you already run.
What happens if my terminal breaks?
It's covered by a lifetime warranty for as long as you process with Paystone, at no cost. If the terminal stops working, we ship a replacement the next business day. The warranty covers the equipment failing, so loss, theft and damage from misuse aren't included, but a machine that simply stops working is replaced and there's nothing to claim or pay.
Am I locked into a long-term contract?
No. Paystone doesn't require long-term processing contracts. The terminal stays free for as long as you keep processing, so the offer continues on your terms rather than being tied to a fixed commitment.
I'm still under contract with my current processor. Can I still switch?
Talk to us anyway. This is the most common question we get, and the answer depends on your existing agreement. Bring your current statement and contract to the call and your rep will walk through your options and timing with you honestly, including whether it makes more sense to start now or closer to your renewal date.
What will my processing rates actually be?
