Paystone

Free Terminal for Life

Offer terms. Effective September 2026.

1.The offer

Eligible Canadian businesses that move their payment processing to Paystone receive one payment terminal at no rental cost and no lease cost, for as long as they remain an active Paystone processing customer in good standing. There is no monthly rental charge for that terminal for the life of the processing relationship.

2.What active and in good standing means

A business is active and in good standing when its Paystone merchant account is open and has not been suspended or terminated, it is processing card transactions through Paystone, and its account is current on all amounts owed. An account that processes no card transactions for six consecutive months may be treated as inactive. If an account becomes inactive, is closed, or is terminated for any reason, the terminal must be returned as described below.

3.Eligible hardware

The offer applies to the Clover® Flex 4, the Clover® Mini 3, the Newland N950 and the Poynt, subject to availability. Paystone determines which terminal a business qualifies for based on business type, payment mix and processing volume. Additional terminals, substitutions and upgrades are available at Paystone's then current pricing and are not covered by this offer.

4.Who can apply

Available to Canadian businesses that complete Paystone's application, underwriting and approval process. Approval is at Paystone's sole discretion. Some business categories are ineligible under card network rules or Paystone's risk policies. Businesses that are already Paystone merchants, and businesses previously terminated for cause, are not eligible.

5.The terminal remains Paystone property

The terminal is supplied on loan and remains the property of Paystone at all times. This offer does not transfer ownership. The business is responsible for keeping the terminal in working condition, and may not sell, lease, lend, modify or reprogram it.

6.Warranty and replacement

The terminal carries a warranty for as long as the business remains an active Paystone processing customer in good standing, at no additional cost. If a terminal fails or malfunctions, Paystone ships a replacement for delivery the next business day, subject to carrier service in the delivery area, and the failed unit must be returned. The warranty covers equipment failure. It does not cover loss, theft, or damage caused by misuse, neglect, unauthorised repair or modification, which remain the responsibility of the business as set out below.

7.Returning the terminal

If the processing relationship ends for any reason, or the account becomes inactive, the terminal must be returned to Paystone in working order, allowing for normal wear, within 30 days. Paystone provides return instructions. Terminals not returned within that period, or returned damaged beyond normal wear, lost or stolen, may be charged at the then current replacement value.

8.Processing rates and fees

This offer covers terminal rental cost only. Payment processing rates, interchange, card network assessments and any account fees continue to apply, and are set out in the merchant's processing agreement. Rates shown in campaign materials are starting rates. The actual rate depends on business type, card mix and monthly volume, and is confirmed with the merchant before anything is signed.

9.Deposits and support

Next business day deposits and 24/7 support are provided under Paystone's standard service terms, and are subject to cut off times, banking days and account standing.

10.One offer per business

This offer covers one terminal per merchant location. It cannot be combined with other Paystone promotions unless Paystone agrees in writing. It is not transferable and has no cash value.

11.Changes to the offer

Paystone may change, suspend or withdraw this promotion at any time and without notice. A withdrawal applies only to new applications. A terminal already supplied to an active merchant under this offer is not affected.

12.Which documents govern

These terms describe a promotional offer. The merchant's processing agreement and Paystone's standard terms govern the relationship, and where there is any conflict those documents prevail. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it.
